Academy of the Redwoods

Are You Interested In Returning To On-Campus Learning? We would like to encourage all students, especially those who are struggling academically, to return to on-campus learning. Breakfast and lunch are available free to all students daily.  If you would like to arrange one or more on-campus learning days per week, please email Academic Counselor, Brooke Martin at bmartin@fuhsdistrict.net. We continue to require morning health screenings, mask-wearing, and regular hand washing/sanitizing. With our physical distancing requirements, we can accommodate all students for two days per week with some exceptions. For questions related to COVID mitigations or other campus concerns, please contact Program Director, Ali Hodges by calling the AR Office, 707-476-4203.

Lynsey's Bio

I was raised in a small fishing community on Prince William Sound in Alaska. I participated in a variety of activities in High School, all of which taught me the value of hard work, perseverance and being mindful of the world around me. These qualities helped to shape who I am and I hope to instill some of these values in the students I teach!

I am excited to begin another year teaching at Academy of the Redwoods. I graduated from Humboldt State University with a degree in Kinesiology while also competing on the HSU Volleyball team. I later received my teaching credential from HSU and have been teaching in the area since. While attending Humboldt I developed a love for the community and the environment and it is now the place that I call home.  I teach Physical Education and Foundations classes at AR and am also the Varsity Volleyball coach at Fortuna High. I am grateful to be a part of the AR team and look forward to another great year!
