Academy of the Redwoods

Are You Interested In Returning To On-Campus Learning? We would like to encourage all students, especially those who are struggling academically, to return to on-campus learning. Breakfast and lunch are available free to all students daily.  If you would like to arrange one or more on-campus learning days per week, please email Academic Counselor, Brooke Martin at bmartin@fuhsdistrict.net. We continue to require morning health screenings, mask-wearing, and regular hand washing/sanitizing. With our physical distancing requirements, we can accommodate all students for two days per week with some exceptions. For questions related to COVID mitigations or other campus concerns, please contact Program Director, Ali Hodges by calling the AR Office, 707-476-4203.

Student Drop-Off Procedure

Good Afternoon,

Throughout the school year it has been a consistent battle to have AR students dropped off in safe parking locations.  We usually need to remind families at the beginning of the year but with 34 days of school left, I had assumed we had mastered safe drop off procedures.

ALL students must be dropped off in a eligible CR parking space.  All cars need to pull into a parking space, place your car in park and let your student out.  Do not drop them off in front of their class and then drive off, unless you’ve parked in a parking space.  The roundabout is never to be used as a drop off or pick up zone unless you drive one of the Redwood Transit or Humboldt Transit busses.

It has come up several times that AR families that are commuting to CR are not using safe driving practices.  I know that everyone is in a hurry to get to class but REMEMBER the person you cut off could be a fellow parent of an AR student, your teacher, your principal or the college president.  They see the people who drive recklessly.

As a community AR MUST lead by example.
