Academy of the Redwoods

Are You Interested In Returning To On-Campus Learning? We would like to encourage all students, especially those who are struggling academically, to return to on-campus learning. Breakfast and lunch are available free to all students daily.  If you would like to arrange one or more on-campus learning days per week, please email Academic Counselor, Brooke Martin at bmartin@fuhsdistrict.net. We continue to require morning health screenings, mask-wearing, and regular hand washing/sanitizing. With our physical distancing requirements, we can accommodate all students for two days per week with some exceptions. For questions related to COVID mitigations or other campus concerns, please contact Program Director, Ali Hodges by calling the AR Office, 707-476-4203.

February 2015 Student of the Month: Owen Costa

Owen is the son of Billy and Penny Costa. In his spare time he enjoys playing video games, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. Owen hopes to attend UC Davis this fall. Owen’s plan is to study Civil Engineering if he attends UC Davis or Environmental Engineering if he attends Humboldt State University. After college, Owen wants to find a job with Caltrans or another similar company. Owen says, “Attending Academy of the Redwoods has been a wonderful opportunity to further my education through high school and college courses. It may be hard work at times, but it definitely feels rewarding after I’ve accomplished my goals here. The community is great, the staff and the students alike. This is an experience that I will value for the rest of my life.” Upon graduating this May, Owen will have earned 36 college units.
