Student Reminder: 

Parents cannot pick you up or drop you off in front of the office, the SSC, the roundabout, or either bus stop.  They MUST park in a parking spot in the parking lot below the flagpole roundabout.


Please sanitize your hands whenever you enter a classroom or the office. 

AR’s Fall Master Schedules are available in the Attendance Office and online on our website under the students tab. Room assignments are subject to change.

Student Support Counselor

Ian MacKelvie, the AR Student Support Counselor, came by most classrooms this week to say hello and remind people of the support he can offer students. Any student dealing with social-emotional difficulty is welcome to contact him and set up a meeting. Feel free to email him at imackelvie@fuhsdistrict.net.


Note that if you do set up a time to meet with Ian that conflicts with your academic schedule, it is YOUR responsibility to inform your teacher with ideally 24 hours of notice. All teachers are supportive of your emotional wellbeing, and we'd like to work collaboratively to support your academic and emotional needs.


Ian will be available Mondays and Thursdays between 11:30 and 2:40 (e.g. lunch, tier, and the final period). This may change as schedules shift.

United States Merchant Marine Academy Q&A: If you are interested in attending the USMMA, one of the five federal service academies, they will be hosting a Q&A session on August 31st at 3:00 pm. This will be the perfect opportunity to learn about the admissions process and what it’s really like to attend USMMA. October SAT: The October 2nd SAT is coming up quickly and will be one of the last opportunities this year to sit for the exam. The October 2nd SAT will not be held at Eureka High School, unfortunately. Some of the closest locations are Laytonville, Weaverville, and Ukiah. The regular application deadline is September 3rd and it costs $52 to register. It is recommended that 3rd year students take the SAT for the first time in October to allow ample time to prep for a re-test if needed. 4th Year Community Service Hours: Hello 4th years! If you have not already started making headway on your community service hour requirement, the time is now! You must complete 50 hours of community service by the end of May 2022. If you have completed these hours or any, and you haven't reported them to the office, please do so ASAP to ensure that we have an accurate understanding of how many hours you may still need to complete. If you are having difficulty in finding opportunities to meet this requirement, please make an appointment with Brooke Martin (bmartin@fuhsdistrict.net). 


-Masks must be worn at all times on campus (this includes outside) by everyone regardless of vaccination status. Mask wearing will be enforced.

-CR will be offering free PCR tests in the Athletics Building directly across from the CR Theater on Monday through Wednesday, 9 AM to 12 PM. Regular testing is advised. The CDC and the CDPH recommend that high school-age students receive the Pfizer vaccine.

-Any outside of school Covid-19 exposures must be reported to Mr. King and students must remain at home until they receive instruction from public health. Any in-school exposures will follow HCOE guidelines.

-Bus Passes The AR Office sells monthly bus passes from Humboldt Transit Authority at a discounted rate for students. You can purchase 31-Day Redwood Transit passes for $45, 31-Day Eureka Transit passes for $41, and 31-Day Southern Humboldt Bus passes for $82 with cash or check. Humboldt Transit Authority schedules are available at https://hta.org.

Breakfast & Lunch

FUHSD School Lunch and Breakfast will be offered free of charge Monday- Friday.  Breakfast will be served in the office from 8 am-8:30 am.  Lunch will be served at the SSC starting on Monday, 8/16/2021.

-The CR Cafeteria summer hours are currently Monday-Thursday (not Friday) from 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM. AR offers a school lunch that will be served at the main office this week (SSC normally), the CR Bookstore sells a variety of snacks, and there are several vending machines on campus. Starting August 19th, CR Cafeteria hours will be Monday-Friday 8 AM - 7 PM.  

School lunches will be provided free of charge at the SSC at lunchtime.


Schedules are currently available to view in Aeries under “classes” (you can find this in the left-hand navigation bar). If any changes need to be made to your fall schedule, please submit a schedule change request by emailing Brooke Martin (email below). We understand that fall CR schedules are subject to change and anticipate that schedule changes will occur through September 3rd (which is the last day to drop a CR class without a "W"). If you have any questions about scheduling changes, please email academic counselor, Brooke Martin, at bmartin@fuhsdistrict.net to establish an advising appointment.

CR Class Registration: CR's fall semester begins August 21st which means the last day to enroll in a class is August 20th!! If you are eligible to enroll in a CR class and you have not already registered, you still have time to do so! If you would like to take a college class, but you are unsure of which class to take or which requirement a class will satisfy, you can make an appointment with academic counselor, Brooke Martin, by emailing bmartin@fuhsdistrict.net.


AR Class Requirements: If you are a student that is not enrolled in a CR class, you are required to be enrolled in 3 AR classes per day (not including Tier 1, 2A, or 2B). If you are a student who is enrolled in at least 1, 3-Unit CR class, you only need to be enrolled in 2 AR classes per day (not including Tier 1, 2A, or 2B). If by the CR census date, September 7th, you have not enrolled in a CR class, you will be assigned a full AR schedule with 3 AR classes per day (not including Tier 1, 2A, or 2B). If you do not have a full AR schedule and do not plan on enrolling in a CR class, please email your academic counselor, Brooke Martin, at bmartin@fuhsdistrict.net to make the necessary schedule adjustments.

CR Parking Permits can be purchased online around August 16th at mycampuspermit.com/redwoods. You will need to log in using your CR email address and password and input credit card information. You will then be able to print out a temporary parking permit and your official permit will be mailed to you. If you don’t have a debit or credit card, you can take cash to CR’s Business Office and pay for your parking pass there. Day passes can be purchased for $2 from any one of the parking permit dispensers around campus. If you are simply dropping off or picking up your student, and will not be leaving your vehicle unattended, then a parking permit is not necessary. 

 College Booklists:

-If you are taking a college class this semester, please turn in your CR Booklists. Books required for classes can be found on the CR Bookstore website (https://www.redwoods.edu/student-services/home/bookstore) and/or on your class syllabus. Some professors may not have posted this information yet. Booklists must be turned into the AR Attendance Office so that your required textbooks can be purchased for you. Please note that you must turn in your spring/summer materials before we can order your fall textbooks. Attention all 2nd/3rd/4th Years: WE NEED YOU! Are you interested in being a Lunch Supervisor this year? It’s an easy way to give back to the community and earn community service time. Without lunch supervisors, we can’t have the SSC open for lunch. Please email Ms. Wozny at gwozny@fuhsdistrict.net!
