Academy of the Redwoods

Are You Interested In Returning To On-Campus Learning? We would like to encourage all students, especially those who are struggling academically, to return to on-campus learning. Breakfast and lunch are available free to all students daily.  If you would like to arrange one or more on-campus learning days per week, please email Academic Counselor, Brooke Martin at bmartin@fuhsdistrict.net. We continue to require morning health screenings, mask-wearing, and regular hand washing/sanitizing. With our physical distancing requirements, we can accommodate all students for two days per week with some exceptions. For questions related to COVID mitigations or other campus concerns, please contact Program Director, Ali Hodges by calling the AR Office, 707-476-4203.

December 2019 Student of the Month: Elizabeth Odell

December Student of the Month: Elizabeth Odell

Elizabeth is the daughter of Errin and Brenda Odell. In her free time, she enjoys mountain biking, and working at a bike shop. Elizabeth says that while she will likely be attending Humboldt State University, her college choice will depend on what schools she gets into and which scholarships she receives. Elizabeth plans to major in engineering, or something related to math and science. After college, she hopes to work and live somewhere with lots of opportunities for mountain biking. Of her experience at AR, Elizabeth says, “I’ve really appreciated how I was able to shape my schedule to what works best for me as well as how supportive and involved the teachers are when it comes to helping you succeed.” Elizabeth has earned 42 college units, and is currently studying abroad in Pamplona, Spain on a Rotary Youth Exchange.
